This course is one of the most entertaining chemistry courses around. It is here that a student can finally take all of the foundational material from parts of general chemistry and a lot of organic chemistry and put all of it together to actually identify real compounds. Qualitative analysis is done every day in the workplace in order to determine the structures of substances isolated from organisms or to determine the products of natural reactions as well as those of experimental laboratory reactions.
